Hi everyone! Yes, another actual post. My mom is doing as well as can be expected, which means no scares. She lost her voice, however, and we're not quite sure what brought that about. Mom, is that such a bad thing? Just kidding. Before she completely lost it I talked to her on the phone and she sounded like Mickey Mouse. Hey, you have to find the humor where you can.
This dual Facebook/Blogger thing is quite interesting. Blogger allows, hmmm, how do I describe it...Blogger allows you to say more and post more. Facebook is like texting. It's quick and to the point without a lot of detail. They both have their advantages. I prefer Blogger, but what's nice about Facebook is it doesn't require a lot of thought. You can post something quickly which I would never do on Blogger.
It's warming up here and I'm so happy to be able to go outside in shorts. But it also means I have a TON of yardwork to do in the near future. But I will be outdoors and that is all that matters!
Spring is 2 days away!!!

Time To Update
Hello to everyone who is still following my blog! All 2 of you. Coffee and cookies are being passed around for the faithful. They are Girl Scout Cookies since we purchased about 15 boxes. PLEASE eat them or the will be thrown away.
I apologize for my absence, but in late January my mom was diagnosed with lymphoma, or cancer. The journey through this has been long and agonizing. While lymphoma is a cancer that is easy to cure, my mom has other health issues that have complicated it. Needless to say, it has been a long journey. I haven't blogged about it because it's a personal issue and while some of you may have wanted to know what is going on, I just didn't feel it was right to blog about it. It was depressing, and who wants to read about depressing news? And I just didn't have it in me to share.
My mom is responding well to chemotherapy. It has not been easy on her. She has lost her hair and she says she looks like a bald Leonard Nimoy for "Star Trek". I can't argue with her.
So we are dealing with this. Any prayers will be appreciated. Thank you for understanding my absence.

The Big "C"
In January my mother, who is 72 years old, was diagnosed with cancer. Lymphoma, to be exact. It's a very curable cancer. Unfortunately my mother has some other health problems that make the cure more difficult. One being that she is now fighting the flu after receiving two chemo therapies. Say a prayer for her.

The "C" Word
I'll cut to the chase. After a health scare with my father was resolved in December, my mom was diagnosed with cancer in January. She was immediately hospitalized and received her first chemotherapy treatment. She has a form of lymphoma which, they say, is easily cured. She responded well to the chemo, but she has had some problems since then. The outlook is good, but we are all worn out. Say some prayers, light a candle, think positive thoughts.

Stay Tuned
Sorry, I've been dealing with holidays and winter. It's like the North Pole here. I thank the gods of winter for facing defeat against my snow blower. Anyway, aside from the school and church activities, I am left with no personal time. I want to get some pictures up here to show how miserable our winter has been, but up to this point I haven't had time to take the images. We are under a blizzard warning for tomorrow. And by the middle of the week it's supposed to drop to -10F to -15F here. Yeah, I guess I'll avoid as much outside time as possible.

Belated Happy New Year!
I'm sorry I'm behind on my Happy New Year greetings but we had a family emergency over the holidays that we had to deal with, so blogging was put on the back burner. Everything is fine, thank goodness, but for several days things were a bit tense. I don't really want to go into detail, but it was a health issue and everything is fine. And it didn't involve me. I just hope that you all had a great new year! I can say that the crisis has been resolved. And I am amazed of the technology used to resolve medical issues! We have to be so thankful. I hope that you all had a truly outstanding new year and that your hopes and dreams for the new year come true! It has been a long 2008, and we all deserve better. I do believe, however, that it is going to be a long haul for all of us. I don't think we need to stash our money under our mattresses, but it's time for a bit of fiscal conservatism.
